Lyn Erickson is a Senior Attorney with FAMILYLEGAL. Attorney Erickson has over Twenty (20) years of experience in Family Law matters. Not only does her experience make her a leader among attorneys, she possesses personal and professional qualities that set her apart from the rest. She brings to her clients a sense of compassion, intelligence, patience and respect. She is able to dissect legal issues and develop appropriate strategies to advance client interests without hesitation.

Prior to her affiliation with FAMILYLEGAL, Attorney Erickson was a partner in a local law firm, where she focused her practice in the area of Family Law. Through her many years of experience, Attorney Erickson has been exposed to virtually every possible legal scenario in the area of Family Law. Because of this, she is often sought out by prospective clients who want a strong advocate to deal with more problematic or sensitive issues.

Because I Can Help

The adversarial nature of Family Law practice often burns out attorneys after only a few years in the system. For that reason, attorneys with considerable experience, such as Attorney Erickson, are so rare and valuable. When asked what has driven her to continue in Family Law practice for all these years Attorney Erickson explains, “It’s simple, because I can help individuals and families through some of the most difficult and heart wrenching issues they may ever face in their lives. When a client comes to me, they are naïve to the process and do not know what to expect. They are scared and don’t know what or whom to believe. I need to listen to them, gain their trust, and take the necessary time with them to develop effective strategies. From their, I guide my client through the entire process. It is never easy, but it is much easier when your with an attorney that has done this many time before.”

However, there is much more to a successful attorney than just years of experience. To be successful in Family Law practice you must be compassionate to your clients and respectful to their needs. All too often attorneys try to simply put on an overly aggressive “show” for their clients. These “shows” of aggression are intended to convince the client that the attorney is doing something for them. Clients often like these “show” because it serves to vent or mirror their frustration with the situation, the system and the fact that their case is going no where. Unfortunately, these “shows” are ineffective, inappropriate and only serve to ratchet up the animosity between the parties which typically results in higher legal costs.

Attorney Erickson employs a much more effective and appropriate approach in her cases. As she explains, “Because my clients and I are a unified team, they are typically not frustrated with the system or their case. They do not need me to put on a ‘show’ for them. We employ well thought-out strategies to advance their position. They understand what we are doing and why we are doing it. This approach serves to preserve relationships and foster better results for the client with the least amount of adversarial rhetoric. In the end, my clients have a better chance of reaching their goals, with less stress and less costs.”

Attorney Erickson offers a Free Initial Consultation to all new clients. This Consultation allows her to sit down with individuals, listen to their story, discuss their options and, if necessary, map out effective strategies. Her legal strategies are custom tailored to each client’s specific situation and are designed to bring about positive results.
